What is stored

If you join the tester list, three things are recorded: the email address you typed, the time you submitted it, and — if you arrived from another site — the address of the page you came from, with its query string removed before it is saved. Nothing else. No name, no location, no profile.

To stop the form being used as a spam target, the server counts submissions per network address over a rolling hour. Your IP address itself is never stored: it is combined with a secret and hashed first, and only that hash is kept. It cannot be turned back into an address.

Why

One purpose: to email you about beta builds and tester notes, and when the community around the game opens. That is the whole list. It will not be used for anything else, and every message will carry a way to leave.

Who else sees it

Nobody. The list is not sold, rented, shared or handed to an advertising network. It is held in a Supabase database that only this site’s server can write to and that the public cannot read at all. Supabase (the database host) and Vercel (the site host) process the data on our behalf and do nothing else with it.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies and does not track you between visits. Page views are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and records no identifier that would follow you anywhere. That is why there is no consent banner in your way.

How long it is kept

Until the launch announcement has gone out and a year has passed, or until you ask for it to go — whichever comes first. The rate-limiting hashes are transient and are not retained beyond their hour.

Getting removed

Email hello@citysim.online from the address you signed up with, or click unsubscribe in any message. The row is deleted, not flagged. You can also ask for a copy of what is held about you, which will be the three things listed at the top of this page.

Questions about any of this go to hello@citysim.online.
